Log in (or create the account — have your Medicare number or personal details handy) and print an official copy. A printed card is fully valid at every office, and the on-screen number works even before the printer does. This is also the account that shows claims and enrollment status, so it's worth having anyway.

It's a script: someone claiming to be Medicare says a new card is coming — plastic now, or chipped, or "updated" — and they just need to verify your number, or collect a processing fee.
